"Rockets Over Alaska; The Genesis of Poker Flat"
SIGNED by author Neil Davis and including a rocket flown parachute swath!
Now Shipping!
An exciting new book about the Western Hemisphere's
primary high latitude range for launching scientific rockets. An unusual story
about this relatively unknown but important rocket range, the only major one in
the world not owned by a government or government agency, and one which has
launched rockets since 1969. Born out of the crash of an H-Bomb laden B-52
bomber in far-away Thule, Greenland.
Davis has written a fascinating autobiography of
his days at Poker Flat and in doing so tells the important story of this range.
The result is a well written book--an excellent history--and yet one filled with
interesting anecdotes and personal stories that only an insider can tell. We are
pleased to offer this SIGNED by Davis.
Neil has included a rocket space FLOWN parachute swath "bookmark" with each
book from a 3 stage rocket launched from Poker Flat through the aurora up above
100 km (60 miles). Upon reentry, the parachute was deployed, safely returning
the payload back to Earth.
6x9.5 inches, hardbound with pictorial cover but without a dust jacket as
issued, 244pp with many B&W photos and illustrations.
