A number of years ago, the crew met again and each signed this Photostat copy of the original telegrams and wrote his position under his signature. Irwin at this time had started the Christian evangelical organization High Flight. This article recounts personal spaceflight and life experiences in a moving fashion. With several B&W illustrations. INSCIBRED to Tom and SIGNED by Jim Irwin. A bold nice signature of the late moonwalker.

High Flight Foundation | Colorado Springs, CO | 1986 | original| letter | | Very good | 8.5x11 inches, lightly creased, does not detract, 1pp | Handwritten by Apollo 15 astronaut James Irwin, one of only 12 moonwalkers, on his High Flight Foundation stationery. Excellent content: "Dear A.b. Thanks for your letter. Since you enjoyed my first book thought I would send some more. More pictures and less reading! I would like to visit you and perhaps in July since I will be in Washington, DC for astronaut reunion. I will stay in touch with you. Have a good summer and save some fish for me. Your grateful friend." Irwin signed his first and last name and added Apollo 15 and his classic crescent moon drawing. While we do not know to whom this was written, we note that the only astronaut of this period whose initials were A.B. was Apollo 12 Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean. Regardless, this was obviously written to a close friend. The reference to Irwin's first book is "To Rule the Night" and he has apparently enclosed his two later books "More than Earthlings" and "More than an Ark". An exceptional example.

NASA | New Orleans, LA | 9 x 12 paper B&W poster | some minor creases | Unusual and quite scarce NASA Security poster from NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in Louisiana. Comprised of the words: Apollo 11 506 Courtesy of Security and includes the NASA vector logo, line drawings of the Apollo 11 and their printed signatures. An unusual item from the year of the lunar mission. We do not know whether the purpose of these was for employee morale or (more likely we think) in use of a visit of the Apollo 11 crew to Michoud. Michoud was the NASA center where the Saturn F-1 first stage engines were installed.
